WATERCOLOR, WATERCOLOR.: 2009 continued.

My photo
MI, United States
Painting and creating art has always been a huge part of my life. From a young child with pads of typing paper to the present ... an older experienced dude with pads of watercolor paper. My entire work life was as a commercial artist at all levels of the pecking order. I was born and partially raised on a farm and a small town. Midwest roots except the winters seem to be colder these days. I'm a family guy with kids and grandkids. Unfortunately I can be quite the procrastinator. Retirement does have it's drawbacks, but I can live with that one. Thanks for stopping by and showing interest in my blog.

Classics

Plein air watercolor. Cold, wet and blustery.
Impossible for watercolor. This was painted from
the warmth of the car. These two old wooden
sail boats were being tossed around in the rollers.
Definitely not a day for sailing.

Nebraska

Driving east across Nebraska at 70 mph I caught
a glimpse of this. I believe it's the Platte. Several
days later I searched my memory for this scene.
This was done on hot press Arches 140# watercolor
paper @ 10" x 15".

Flooded Trees

A few quick brush strokes, a little water and
some color.  It's the right direction, just not quite
what it should be.

Older Painting Deserves a Look.

It's been several years since this painting was done.  It
has a little more flow than most of my paintings.  This
style needs to be a possibility for the future.

OK, that's enough for one day.

Tip Toe Around the Subject

Ok this is a test.  Obviously no content
here or a great deal of thought.

Moving on.

2009 continued.

I'm excited and anxious at the same time.  This trip is something I've never tried before.  The mystery is if something will come of it.  What will it be, where will it come from.  I've got to close my eyes and just start.

2009, it's going to be a long year!

Gravel bar, easy lifting, different surface.
